Last Saturday, 24th January, we hosted a very special 3D design and 3D printing workshop at NODOS, kindly hosted by the Masum Karimi boutique in Madrid. Six children aged between 7 and 12 took part in an immersive experience where creativity, technology and learning came together.

Learning the Basics of 3D Design
During this hands-on 3D printing workshop, the kids discovered what it really means to design in three dimensions. Through a guided and highly intuitive process, they learned the difference between 2D and 3D thinking, experimenting with volume, depth and structure in a playful and accessible way. Step by step, each child modelled their own initial using beginner-friendly 3D design tools.

3D Printing Workshop: The Process
Once the designs were ready, the excitement continued as they watched their ideas come to life using a Bambu Lab A1 3D printer. Seeing their creations printed layer by layer helped them understand the full digital-to-physical process in a clear and engaging way. By the end of the session, every child left with a personalised 3D printed keyring they had designed themselves.
Beyond Technology: How 3D Printing Unlocks Creative Potential
This 3D printing workshop for beginners showed how accessible and inspiring digital fabrication can be from an early age. At NODOS, we believe learning 3D printing is not only about technology, but about empowering creativity, confidence and problem-solving skills through hands-on experiences.
